Day 92: Some of the Students of 4GW

[ By on February 14, 2013 ]

We are making bags for victims of Sandy that do not have homes. The bags are going to have food, pencils and notepads. There are pink paper hearts and we are writing an inspiring note on them and they will go to somebody who does not have a home.

Kaylee’s mom has a friend who goes every month to Rockaway. The people who live there who were affected by Sandy do not have anything, so this month we are bagging food and supplies to give to them so they will have a nice Valentine’s Day.

Sophia and Julie, before Thanksgiving, went to the Rockaways and got to know the people affected by Hurricane Sandy. Their purpose was to give out Thanksgiving meals.

The people in 4GW brought in the supplies to make these goody bags for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Thanks to Max, Gaby, Sophia, Sloane, Julie and Kaylee for dictating this post! Along with their class, they are busy making their bags. (And they all also got to have their own Valentine’s Day treats!)

I am so very proud of my students! They worked so hard in baking, bringing in supplies and packaging these goody bags. Together we made 90 bags filled with delicious snacks for those who were hit by Sandy. We worked together and made a difference! In the month of May, we will be working on a diaper drive to collect diapers for mommies who can’t afford to purchase them. It feels so good to lend a helping hand!
