  3. Day 92: Some of the Students of 4GW

    We are making bags for victims of Sandy that do not have homes. The bags are going to have food, pencils and notepads. There are pink paper hearts and we are writing an inspiring note on them and they will go to somebody who does not have a home. Kaylee's mom has a friend who goes every month to Rockaway. The people who live there who were affected by Sandy do not have anything, so this month we are bagging food and supplies to give to them so they will have a nice Valentine's Day.   4. Day 88: 1V Super Bowl Pool Final Results

    It's not like a pool that you swim in; it's totally a different kind! There are different kinds of pools – a swimming pool, the game pool that you play with different colored balls and numbers on them, and a pool of water connected to the ocean. The results are that Mary, Juliette, Adam and Julien all win a prize! * The first quarter was won by Julien and his buddy, Justin.   5. Day 83: 1V and 5M Buddy Bloggers

    This week in class we are doing math and language arts activities circled around football. We made a football pool with first and fifth grade buddies, and if we win we get a prize. A football pool is where you draw numbers, and if your numbers come up in the ones place in one of the quarters, you win a prize. In this grid you get two numbers, one for the Ravens and one for the 49ers. If you win the first quarter prize you get a coupon for one buddy snack and the second quarter (halftime) is ten extra minutes of recess.   6. Day 78, the Students of 2M

    There are 17 different kinds of penguins. Emperors are the tallest penguins. Penguins lost their ability to fly. Penguins have been around for more than five million years. All penguins live in the southern hemisphere. Penguins molt their feathers. Little Blue is the smallest penguin at about one foot tall. Penguins do not walk, they waddle. The students of 2M say they are "the best penguin studiers!!"

  7. Day 74: Natalie, Third Grader

    We started our run-through in drama today. The teachers give you some advice about your acting. We already did one scene. Tips might be "maybe it would be better if you climbed in that tree". Our play is Tales of the Lenape Spirit. We did Thursday Math today. We were working on arrays. It is when you have rows and columns. Arrays help you with your everyday life so you don't have to count up to 86 or something like that. Natalie is artsy. People say she is funny. She has two friends named Lea and Zoe, and she has a sister who is 27 and  is finishing her last year of law ...

    I learned how to do our Alvin Ailey dance. (Ava) I learned how to carry 10 in math. (Katarina) I learned how to regroup in math the correct way.   9. Day 65: The Students of 2M

    We used a microscope. We used a microscope to look at people's hands. We looked at human bodies. We looked at people's hands,  hair, shirt and ears. We looked at donuts and Hudson the Bear and paper snowflakes. We used iPads to look at all these things. Some hands were dirty and some were clean.   10. Day 61: Max and Jack, Fourth Graders

    I did violin and PE for specials. I did solos in my violin special: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Hot Cross Buns. I started playing violin this year. I practice at home. I play songs with a recording. There is music for each song. The recording is a disk in my book. (Max) I'm working in math right now on the calendar, mainly the months of the year. To remember all of this, I use a song that I was taught in Kindergarten. There is also a song for the days that I learned in Pre-School.
