[ March 14, 2014 ]

Grade3Recorder ConcertThe third grade classes transported the audience around the world during their recent recorder concert.

Featuring several folk songs and narration to explain each song, the third grade recorder concert was informative as well as entertaining. The concert began with the entire grade performing “Corner of the Sky” from Pippin, followed by all three classes playing the Puerto Rican folk song, “El Coqui,” which is about the small frog native to that country.

Class 3CH then took the audience to Africa for the Liberian folk song, “Kokoleoko,” which is about chickens.  Class 3MS followed with the French dancing song, “Bransle de Chamaigne”.  All three classes performed the Nigerian folk song, “Everybody Loves Saturday Night”. The final destination was the Sichuan Province in China, with Class 3BF playing “Kangding Love Song”.

The entire grade closed out the show with Vince Guaraldi’s “Linus and Lucy,” better known as the theme song from the Peanuts animated specials.
