Lower School Teacher Presents at Teaching Social Activism Conference

[ May 06, 2014 ]

Grade 2 Assistant Teacher Sharon Paige was recently a featured presenter at the 2nd Annual Teaching Social Activism in the Classroom Conference: Empowering Teachers and Learners, held at the Museum of the City of New York.

“My presentation focused on teaching empathy to our youngest learners, and featured information on character strengths and experiential learning,” Sharon explains, adding, “I was able to attend last year’s conference and it was fantastic.”

The two-day conference highlighted the various tools and techniques used by teachers to engage their students in the history and practice of social change, inspired by the content of the Museum’s groundbreaking exhibition, Activist New York.
