Lower School Welcomes Grandparents & Friends to Visiting Day

[ May 06, 2014 ]

Nearly 300 grandparents, aunts, uncles and other friends close to the hearts of our students in Grades 3 to 5 spent the morning at the River Campus recently.

After enjoying breakfast, mingling with other guests, and some lovely music performed by Sarah Cion, the grandparents and special friends were welcomed by Head of Lower School Dr. Edwin P. Gordon. They were then invited to enjoy two songs from the Grade 3 Recorder Concert, “El Coqui” and “Everybody Loves Saturday Night,” as well as to sing along with the students in Grades 4 & 5 as they performed “Oh What a Beautiful Morning” and “My Favorite Things.” Finally, the students taught their guests “The Lower School Song.”

Visitors also got to spend time in the students’ classrooms, working together on activities and crafts.

All too soon, it seemed, it was time for our guests to depart, but everyone agreed it was a wonderful morning.
