  8. Sandy Rubenstein Speaks to Middle School Students about Mark It With a Stone

    On Wednesday, December 8, Riverdale welcomed back Sandy Rubenstein, a faculty member at Horace Mann, who came to speak to Middle School students about Mark It With a Stone, her father's memoir about his life as a Holocaust survivor. Mark It With a Stone begins when German bombs land on Joseph Horn's hometown of Radom, Poland when he is just 12 years of age. Life dramatically changes for his entire family as well as for the families of so many others after that day.   9. Students Share Research at 2010 Science Symposium

    On Tuesday, November 30, thirteen Upper School students had the opportunity to share their independent summer science research with interested parents, students, faculty, and staff at the 2010 Science Symposium. The night began with a poster session during which time each of the participants stood in front of their posters and answered questions from anyone interested in their work. Afterwards, each student gave a 5-7 minute PowerPoint presentation on their findings. Unlike typical high school science fairs, there is no "winner" at the Riverdale Science Symposium.
