About Gaby P

Hi! My name is Gaby and I have been going to Riverdale Country School since Pre-Kindergarten. I am currently in twelfth grade. I play field hockey (all of the sports at Riverdale are so much fun, and I love being able to spend time outdoors at the end of every day!); I am also a tour guide and love the blogging activity group. I have a twin who also goes to Riverdale as well. I am really interested in learning different languages (I take Spanish and Latin), and I'm in honors math. During my weekends, I love to run in the park and hang out with my friends. So far, one of my favorite parts about high school has been getting the chance to meet so many nice and fascinating new members of the Class of 2014.

  1. Rome!

    [ By on February 25, 2011 ]

Spring Break is already approaching, and I can't wait! For the first week of break, I get to travel along with 30 other students and three faculty members to Rome. I'm really excited because I have never been there before, and the trip seems like a great addition to what I have already learned in my Latin class. We will get to see all different sites, such as colosseums and the city of Pompeii, and travel to many different parts of Rome. We have a meeting for our trip on Wednesday, so I'll update this post with all of the new information about the trip! Vale (Bye) for now!

  2. Oops!

    [ By on October 26, 2010 ]

Hello Readers! Well, I managed to get swallowed up by a math test, a Constructing America test, and a Spanish test all in one week, and then I had a Latin test today! Glad that it is all over and done with and that I managed to handle it all pretty well...phew!  The days are getting colder, (although today was oddly humid) and it means the approach of the end of the quarter when grades come in and fall sports wrap up and everyone starts wearing jackets and Uggs. Today was one of my last field hockey practices which Coach P called the "Ultimate Challenge." We played Cat and Mouse (a sprint and chase game), Ultimate Frisbee, and a full field scrimmage. It was ...

  3. Busy Campus!

    [ By on October 21, 2010 ]

Riverdale is just getting busier by the day! Last week, I had a science lab report, history in-class essay, and a Latin test, not to mention a volleyball game against Poly Prep. Fortunately, that is all behind me, and we won our game! This week I have an English quiz, math quiz, science test, and a volleyball game against Holy Child. Yesterday, we had an assembly about keeping our community green with our new recycling system, solar panels, white board message board, and biodegradable paper cups. We also discussed keeping our life at home green. Next week, I have an English essay due based on The Things They Carried, a Vietnam war story. Also next week, my French ...

  4. Meet Gaby

    [ By on October 08, 2010 ]

Hi! My name is Gaby and I have been going to Riverdale Country School for 11 years. I am currently in ninth grade and have found it to be an easy transition into the Upper School. This fall, I am playing field hockey (all of the sports at Riverdale are so much fun, and I love being able to spend time outdoors at the end of every day!); I am also a tour guide and have joined the blogging activity group. I have a twin who also goes to Riverdale as well. This year, I am taking Latin for the first time and am loving it so far! I am really interested in learning different languages (I also take

  5. First Blog Post!

    [ By on October 07, 2010 ]

First Blog Ever! Hello! I am so excited to start this blogging activity at RCS. It is a great way to get to know about life at RCS, and today is actually a great day to get this started! I began my day with a PreCalc test (which I think I passed!), continued onto Latin where Pyramus and Thisbe were waiting for us to discover the hole between the wall through which they used to talk to each other, and then to Activity period where I attended the Sustainability Committee meeting. We had some great ideas about food quality/preparation/serving sizes to reduce waste, and I am so excited! We also might begin making purses and bags out of all ...
