Yesterday, my photo class decided to take a trip during class. We left campus by foot and walked around for 50 minutes taking pictures in Riverdale. It was interesting to explore the neighborhood around our school because very often I come to school and remain on campus all day and then leave to go home. I like being able to walk around and explore. A couple of us even interacted with neighbors to the school who live across the street. The area we were walking around was very interesting architecturally as well. It was a fun experience that gave me ideas for my final project in photography.
Hey guys! Its Gaby and Vera! We're doing a joint blog today. As some of you know, today is 12/12/12!! The last time the day, month, and year are all the same. So we though we'd make a list of 12 things that we love about Riverdale: 1. Blogging! 2. The fields! 3. Vinik's hot chocolate! 4. Constructing America (history/English class for juniors)! 5. The teachers! 6. The cafeteria (and the toaster)! 7. Lindy (Lindenbaum--art building)! 8. Second floor of the library! 9. Afterschool sports! 10. Assemblies! 11. Music concerts! 12. All our friends :):):):):):):):):):):) Listen to "12 Days of Christmas" after reading. You know you love us xoxo, Gossip Girls
Here we are again. Riverdale. A community that somehow mitigates the classic fears of school. This is my junior year, infamously difficult, but my amiable peers and helpful teachers have shown me how to go through it without having too many nervous breakdowns. I'm doing XC for the second year in a row and as my counterpart Travis Brady mentioned in an earlier post, it is no walk in the park. No, rather it is a fast-paced run in a long, hilly park. Furthermore, he failed to mention my successful triumph over him by a mere one tenth of a second. On an academic note, I am taking Math, Latin, Chemistry, and Constructing America. Constructing America is a cool class ...
For as long as I can remember my brother and I have always gone to Riverdale. We both started in kindergarten with Ms. Mahoney. He is currently a senior and I am a sophomore. Next year, he is going to Cornell University in Ithaca. I know I will miss seeing him in the hallways at school and spending time at home. It will be odd to be an only child and home and not have my brother there. I will definitely go up to visit him and I hope he will come back to visit often! Russell will have a great time and I wish him all the best!
